Prateep Ungsongtham Hata Award

            The Prateep Ungsongtham Hata Award is presented annually, each year honouring someone who has worked to improve the situation of the urban poor in Thailand.

            The award is financially supported by the Stock Exchange of Thailand Foundation, with the winner receiving 500,000 baht to use on further work to help the poor. The award is administered by the Duang Prateep Foundation.  The winner is selected by a committee of Duang Prateep Foundation representatives, after nominations are invited through advertisements in national newspapers.

            The naming of the Prateep Ungsongtham Hata Award is in recognition of the leading role the founder and chairperson of the Duang Prateep Foundation has played in improving the situation of the urban poor for over thirty years.
